Following my previous blog post about introducing you to a new set of ideas, I'd like to offer another concept that may challenge what you believe to be true or it may very well reaffirm your existing beliefs about the nature of our existence.
Establishing a relationship with your higher self is a natural progression after fully honouring your physical body. Your higher self, or spiritual self, is what connects you to the ethereal plane. This is the plane of existence wherein everything resides. Thus, it is your higher self which connects you to all things and all beings.
There are many names for this plane of existence and the emergence of our higher selves, afforded to us from many great historical teachers. To the religiously inclined, the higher self could be considered God or perhaps the divine. This is pertinent because it encourages us to see the divinity in ourselves. Carl Jung referred to this notion as the collective unconscious, the realm of the mind which we all share and access our personality archetypes from.
The New Age movement has interpreted this idea as Mother Nature, the planet Earth. This has given way to the Gaia Hypothesis, that the earth is a single living organism. Scientifically, through Quantum Physics, this could be thought of as the vibratory energy everything in our universe shares at an atomic level or as the Higgs field, a field of energy that is thought to exist in every region of the universe.
Whatever our language is to describe this indescribable nature of our higher self, the underlying principle is the same; that we are somehow all connected to each other, that we share a common element.
It is important to develop a Sacred Relationship with this energy, with this divinity, with consciousness. It is from this relationship that we begin to realise that the world does not revolve around us and that we are part of something much greater, much grander.
